The Naruo Golf Club features a highly interesting course artfully designed and strategically laid out by British expatriates (the three Crane brothers) and the well-known course designer Charles Hugh Alison in the verdant hills east of Japan’s famed Rokko mountain range.
The greens are korai grass (Manila grass), sometimes called ‘Japanese carpet’ or ‘Korean grass’. Always maintained in top-notch condition, the greens are widely recognized as being among the best in Japan.
Members come to play golf with the passion of youth, but approach the course with the cultivated manners of a thousand-year-old culture. Even though the Naruo Golf Club has almost a century of history, it is about more than tradition and formality. A dedication to improving one’s skill with each swing is complemented by the building of lasting friendships.
